He was predeceased by: his parents, Cavanaugh Eckert Brown and Genevieve Brown; his wife Nancy Brown; his son Scott Ranald Brown; and his nephew Rod Weddermann.
He is survived by: his daughter Robbin Butler; his granddaughters, Megan Jaison Wentzel and Kelly Jasion; his sister Gloria Weddermann (Ray); his nieces and nephews, Laura Weddermann, Lynn Weddermann Estes (Joe) and Wendy Weddermann Dossey (Scott); his great-niece Sara; and his nephew Gary Brown. He is also survived by his family, friends.
