He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Edward Bernard, Sr. and Rose Lillian Flynn; his wife Doris F. Flynn (Nee Gasparovic); his children, Jennifer R. Flynn (Michael Van Horn) and Patrick M. Flynn, Jr. (Rachel Lesse); his grandchildren, Sophia and Dominic; and his siblings, Carol Cuthbertson (William), Thomas Patrick Flynn (Mary Jean) and Edward Bernard Flynn, Jr. (Sandy). He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to FASA (Fellowship Alliance Chapel South Africa), c/o James Walter Jr., 2100 South Fire Land Road, Southampton, NJ 08088 in memory of Patrick Flynn.
