He was predeceased by: his siblings, Victor and Victoria; and his pets, Chandler and Ralphie. He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Portnoy (Sean), Brian Arasim (Jennifer) and Liz Kirchner (Justin); his grandchildren, Maddie, Sam, Max, Gabe, Sadie, James and Brady; and his sister Helen Foss (Michael Foss).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
