He is survived by: his wife Cynthia L. Shields (Nee Wyatt); his children, Cassandra 'Casey Shields and Connor Shields; his parents, Alice Shields and Nee West; his sister Coleen "Anne" Shields; his cousin Denise Wood; his parents-in-law, Harry and Sandy Wyatt; his siblings-in-law, Susan and Daniel Lacey; and also, Tom, Denise Dearden, Robert Wood, Elizabeth Thompson, Susan Thompson-Grau and Lisa Miklin.

Donations may be made in Ed's memory to The National Kidney Foundation or Wounded Warriors.
