He was predeceased by: his mother Suzanne Padgett; and his nephew Christopher Blackburn. He is survived by: his wife Janine M. Padgett; his children, Jeffrey D. Padgett and Rebecca M. Padgett; his siblings, Hal Padgett, Susan Shipman (Dave), Sarah Meisner (Larry), Angie Adams (Chris) and Pamela Crawford; his nephew Kenny; his stepparent Billie Padgett; his stepsisters, Bonnie Bevis, Wendy Johnson and Cindy Elliott; and also, Erik, Austin, Lacey, Amy Kallestad, Christopher, Chloe, Abby, Holden, Jameson Adams and Larry Meisner.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's memory to First Tee or the American Cancer Society.
