He was predeceased by: his brother Brendan Downing (Rosemary). He is survived by: his spouse Carroll Downing; his sons, Christopher Downing (Wilma) and Kevin Downing (Denise); his brother Bruce Downing (Donna); and his grandchildren, Brendan Downing, Connor Downing, Erin Downing and Caitlin Downing. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
