George Permahos Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Permahos of Marlboro, New Jersey, born in Brooklyn, New York, who passed away on May 24, 2021, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Permahos, Sr. and Anna Erardy Permahos; his wife Julia Slavinsky; his son George Permahos III; his grandson William Permahos; his brother Lewis Permahos of Delaware; and his daughters, Susan Tuccillo (Frederick Tuccillo) of Matawan and Raquel Ann Rackover (Howard Rackover) of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He was also cherished by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
His interests included books on the construction of such New York City landmarks as the Brooklyn Bridge and the Empire State Building, and he was a supporter of the South Street Seaport Museum and the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation.
