He was predeceased by: his parents, Saul Alterman and Fay Alterman (Goldstein); and his former wives, Tobe and Arlene. He is survived by: his wife Shayna; his children, Arlene, Laura Calhoun, Suzanne Alterman and Richard Alterman; his sister Ruth Brod; and his stepchildren, Jonathan Menkis, Sarah Macaluso, Edward, Robin Panzer and Charles Panzer.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Levine Memorial Chapel (649 Washington Ave, Albany, NY 12206). A burial was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Oheb Shalom Cemetery (1321 N Broad St, Hillside, NJ 07205).
