He was predeceased by: his parents, William Matthias and Idella Matthias (Barracliffe); his wife Benigna Matthias (Ferrauti); and his siblings, William Matthias and Idella Rowand.

He is survived by: his children, Christopher Matthias of Easton, PA and Victoria Matthias of Maple Shade, NJ; his grandson Danilo Gonzalez Matthias; his brother-in-law Felice Ferrauti (Linda); his nieces, Judith Rowand and Cheryl DiGiuseppe (Bill); and his nephew William Matthias (Melissa). He is also survived by many cousins and friends.
