He was predeceased by: his mother Lillian Woerner; his stepfather Henry Woerner; his father Raymond P. Smith; and his siblings, Raymond Smith and Marilyn Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara; and his sons, Michael Smith of Annapolis, MD and Sean Smith of Brick, NJ.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
