He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank and Adele'Lil'Viola; and his sister Bernadette Passo. He is survived by: his wife Carol Viola; his children, Stephanie Brannagan (William), Chris Viola (Corrie) and Heather Levering (Brooks); his grandchildren, Chris, Chloe, Connor, Cecelia, Jack and Lily; his siblings, Robert Viola (Alice) and Eileen McEvoy (John); and his brother-in-law Joseph Passo.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 19th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, September 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the 5th Avenue Chapel (304 Fifth Ave, Belmar, NJ 07719). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 20th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack Meridian where he received care for many years or America's Keswick at americaskeswick.org.
