Betty Brienza Obituary

Betty Brienza, 89, of Manchester, formerly Bound Brook, NJ passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on Thursday, October 26th, with family by her side. Betty was born in Plainfield and grew up in Middlesex with her parents the late Margaret and Charles Stubner. After graduating Bound Brook High School in 1952 she worked at American Cyanamid. It was during this time she met her future husband Gerard Brienza at his business Tip Top Restaurant where later, as his wife, worked by his side. Anyone who frequented the deli would remember the smile behind the counter because Bette, Betty or Betsy was nothing less than a ray of sunshine no matter what day she was working or by which name you knew her.

Her favorite memories were those she shared with all who had the pleasure to spend time with her at the family beach house in seaside Park.

As a devoted wife, loving mother and "grandmother", a title she truly earned with the joy and devotion she shared with granddaughter Kendall, she still had enough love to share with her nieces nephews and their children. Betty was the glue that kept everyone together.

There was a special place in her heart for animals she shared her life with them and every stray knew the path to her door.

Betty always looked out for others and rarely if ever asked for anything herself.

She was a shining example of the Emerson poem: SUCCESS.

To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived....

She was deeply loved, touched so many lives and will be missed by so many.

Betty was predeceased by her husband Gerard, their daughter Geri Brienza and Betty's twin sister, Edna Truesdale.

Betty is survived by three daughters; Lee, wife of Doug Sickles; Alex Lynn, widow of Mike Flanagan; and Joan Nardozzi. She also leaves behind her beloved granddaughter, Kendall Flanagan her husband Chris Santiago and grandson Jeffrey Nardozzi great grandson Michael along with many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Betty's life will take place at a later date.
