He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Byrne and Margaret Furlong Byrne; and his siblings, Thomas Byrne, Rose Smith, James Byrne, John Byrne, Margaret Phair, Robert Byrne, Michael Byrne and Marie Mingo (Walter Byrne).
He is survived by: his wife Claire Wolpert; his brother William Byrne; his children, Eugene Byrne (Katie) and Denise Tocci (Tom); his grandchildren, Brian, Meghan, Christopher Byrne, Mitchell, Spencer and Marissa Yeager; and his sister-in-law Carol Fordonski (Art). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Whiting Volunteer First Aid Squad.
