He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Maher and Elsie Maher; his wife Lois Maher; his son Keith Maher; his sister Sheila Swain; his brother-in-law Terrence Swain; his mother-in-law Gladys Kazenski; his sister-in-law Valerie Porada; and his close friend Dave Maher.
He is survived by: his sons, Mark Maher, Brian Maher and Robert Maher (Shannon); his grandchildren, Kyle, Brett, Katie, Jeff, Jaiden, Zack and Lois; and his nieces and nephews, Lisa Woodfield (Ed), Karen Wegrzyniak (Mike), Leslie Carmody (Dan), Anastasia Nichols (Marty), Stephen Porada (Faith) and Kevin Swain (Karen).
