He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Gardner and Richard Gardner. He is survived by: his wife Susan Gardner; his daughter Liz Boulware (Scott); his grandchildren, Camille and Marin; his daughter Karen Laughlin; his grandchildren, Tyler, Sadie and Bridget; his sisters, Hope Sanborn Wall Twp and Margaret Gravender (Michael); and also Spring Lake Heights. He is also survived by 1 niece; and 4 nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Andrews United Methodist Church.
