She was predeceased by: her husband Everett Newman; and her daughter Judy Thompson. She is survived by: her daughters, Nancy Matthews (Chip) of Brielle, Susan DeSevo (Robert) of Ocean, Lynn Seigel (Arthur) of Montvale and Debbie Scatourchio of Brick; her grandchildren, David Thompson, Heather Forte, Christy Matthews, Nikki Vitale, Dan Matthews, Suzanne Bilotta, Stacy Nappi, Stephanie DeSevo, Adam Seigel, Larry Seigel, Jonathan Seigel and Andrew Scatorchio; her great grandchildren, Dylan, Leah, Kali, Brianna, Blake, Alexander, Colton, Chase, Sophia, Benjamin, Evelyn and Beatrice; her son-in-law Jack Thompson; and her sisters, Carol Voorhees and Linda Duffield.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to a place that was near and dear to her heart, Manasquan Presbyterian Church.
