She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert and Rose; and her siblings, Herbert Canzater and Juanita Canzater. She is survived by: her former husband William Bruce II; her children, William Bruce III, Randy Canzater, Anita Scott, Ayana Patrizio, Lillie X. Bruce and Cecelia Bruce; her cousin Lavern Trapp; and her grandchildren, Gervantis Barrow, Mickel Barrow, Mellannie Johnson, Keila Canzater, Willie Bruce and Annaliese Bruce. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other cousins, and many friends.
