He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Hermstedt and William Hermstedt; and his brothers, Henry Hermstedt, Teddy VanAulen and William "Bill" Hermstedt.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Hermstedt (Brodzinski); his children, Sandra Crawford (Richie) of South Brunswick, Laura Furch (Bill) of South Brunswick, Raymond Hermstedt, Jr. (Kim) of Spotswood and Michael Hermstedt of Spotswood; his sister Mary Louise Schaffer of Lake City, FL; his sisters-in-law, Anita Hermstedt and Elizabeth Potochar; his grandchildren, Heather Santiago, Richard Crawford, Raymond Hermstedt, Shaun Hermstedt, Courtney Furch, Savannah Hermstedt, Paige Furch and Kendall Hermstedt; and his great grandchildren, Bailey Crawford and Colton Santiago. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
