She was predeceased by: her parent Victor Beretta; her husband Carmine J. Abbondante; and her sibling Rachel J. Pallaci (late Vincent J. Pallaci). She is survived by: her parent Justina Beretta (Rizzo); her sister Mary Lou Laughlin (Matthew Laughlin); her children, Karen Lee Bava (John Bava) and Thomas Abbondante (Heather); her grandchildren, Caralee Grygo (Adam), Daniel Bava (Jessica), Hayley Bava, Hannah Bava, Julia Bava, Matthew Bava, Serena Abbondante and Dylan Abbondante; her great grandchildren, Stella Grygo, Henryk Grygo and Cambria Bava; and her aunt Mary Critelli. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
In lieu of flowers, her family would prefer that donations be made in Philomena's memory to the American Cancer Society.
