He was predeceased by: his mother Dolores; his wife Alicia; his son Ricardo; and his siblings, Mary of German, II, Joseph and Shirley.

He is survived by: his children, Carlos (Viviana), Elissa (Peter), Elaine (Donald), Annette and Edward II; and his grandchildren, Elissa, Thomas, Carlos Jr., Bianca, Amanda, Nicholas, Madison, Alexander and Cole.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions a private graveside service was held at Old Tennent Cemetery in Manalapan.
