He was predeceased by: his parents, John Francis and Mary Sofia Kempf (Wenskus); his wife Evelyn A. Kempf (Comfort); his son Michael Kempf; and his brother-in-law Herm Heter.
He is survived by: his children, Suzanne Russo (John), Ronald Kempf (Alice) and John Kempf Jr. (Melony); his sisters, Kathy Heter and Mary Sullivan; and his grandchildren, Jessica (Marcos) and Mallory. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
