He is survived by: his close friend Terry MacLeay; his children, James Bonkosky Jr. (Jennifer), Jeff Bonkosky (Erin) and Adoring; his grandchild Harper; his siblings, Ronald Bonkosky and Caring; his mother Claire Bonkosky; and also Jason. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in James's name to Tunnel to Towers, Wounded Warriors, or Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc.
