He was predeceased by: his brother Steven Panelas. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Ferraro-Panelas; his daughter Emily; his son-in-law Justin Sobel of Ramsey, NJ; and his son Thomas Panelas of Mahwah, NJ.. He is also survived by friends and coworkers.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff, NJ 07481). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at the George Washington Memorial Park (234 Paramus Rd, Paramus, NJ 07653).
