He was predeceased by: his siblings, Jerome Gero, Rocco W. Gero, Jr. and Nicholina L. Keefe; and his parents, Rocco Gero and Lucy Gero.

He is survived by: his wife Frances Gero; his sons, Joseph Gero, Jr. (Nancy Fiorelli) and Patrick Gero (Patricia); and his brothers, Bartholomew Gero, Martin Gero, Michael Gero and Anthony Orlando (Patricia). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made in Joseph's memory to the Madison Ambulance Corps, 29 Prospect St, Madison, NJ 07940.
