He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Wetzel and Doris Joan Layton Wetzel; his brother Richard Wayne Wetzel, Sr.; and his nephew Richard Wayne Wetzel, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Berrios Wetzel; his children, Peter (Lori), Steven Vasquez (Chris), April Cancellieri (Frank) and Christina Arce (Samuel); his grandchildren, Alyssa, Kristin, Jenna, Francesca, Alejandro, Isabella, Sebastian and John Steven; his sister Cathy Wetzel Dilione; his nephews, Christopher Wetzel, Freddie and Mike Dilione; and his niece Nicole Wetzel.
