He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Louise McKnight-Herbert and William Elias Herbert; his brother James McKnight (Butch); and the mother of his children Denise Cranshaw. He is survived by: his children, Charles Cranshaw CJ (Yvelisse Lopez) of Asbury Park, NJ, Rayna Herbert of Toms River, NJ, Deshana Cranshaw of Toms River, NJ and William Herbert of Florida; his siblings, David McKnight of Newark, NJ, Derek Herbert of Asbury Park, NJ, Lorrin Herbert of Virginia Beach, VA, Brenda McKnight of Maryland and Rhonda Herbert of Eatontown, NJ; and his aunts, Barbara Deckie of Cliffwood, NJ and Mary Lou Doggett of Neptune, NJ. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, friends and cousins.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Day Lawson Funeral Home & Cremation Services (243 Broadway, Long Branch, NJ 07740).
