It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Annie Bynum in Long Branch, New Jersey, born in Como, North Carolina, who passed away on July 5, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Enoch Sr. Cowper and Fannie D. Cowper; her husband Webster H. Bynum Jr.; and her brothers, Enoch Jr. of North Carolina, John C. of North Carolina and Paul E. Cooper of North Carolina.
She is survived by: her children, Peggy Patricia Stephenson of Jackson, MS, Bettie Smith of Neptune, NJ, Thomasine Shuler of Aberdeen, MD and Paul E. Bynum (Carolyn) of Sierra Vista, AZ; her sister Etta Mae Parker; and her sister-in-law Mildred Cooper. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren.
