With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alvina Thompson (Long Branch, New Jersey), who passed away on October 25, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Olivia Farrow and James Farrow; her husband John W. Thompson Jr.; her sons, Michael and Gazzie; and her siblings, Spencer, Columbus, James, Christine, Eunice, Mabel and Mary.
She is survived by: her children, Charles, William (Beverly), Mitchell (Roxanne), Matthew, Barbara, Elsie, Valarie (Doug), Susan (Johnnie), Janet (Herman), Marsha (Ronald) and Tina; her siblings-in-law, Mildred Hollins, Moses Thompson and Ervin Thompson; her niece Cassie; and her close friends, Kimberly Buffaloe, Estelle Jenkins, Linda Beach and Gloria Wright. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, 16 great, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at the Lawson Funeral Home & Cremation Services (243 Broadway, Long Branch, NJ 07740).
