He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Barksdale and Julia Dunbar; his brother Joe Edly Barksdale; and his wife Celestine Whitley-Barksdale. He is survived by: his children, Lionel Barksdale (Dana) of Florida and Dr. Miesha Osborne (Raymond) of Maryland; his siblings, Jimmy Stephens of New Jersey, Otis Stephens (Pearl) of North Carolina, Frank Ray of Mississippi, Melvin Ray (Unknown), Murphy Jean Stephens of New Jersey and Julia Ray (Unknown); his granddaughter Brianna; and his stepgranddaughter Harley (Temple). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM and at 11:00 AM.
