He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Averso and Fannie Averso; and his brother Frank Averso. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Averso; his son Joseph A. Averso, Jr.; his nieces and nephews, Anthony Averso, Geralyn Borelli and Anne Marie Hinkle; and his godson Vincent Lisa. He is also survived by his many cousins and his much loved adopted cats.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Bergen County Animal Shelter or to the Disabled American Veterans would be appreciated.
