He was predeceased by: his parents, Beatrice Chooljian and Dikran Chooljian; his sister Eleanor Safarian (Chooljian); and also Gladys Chooljian (Besharian). He is survived by: his significant other Valentina Siderenko; his children, Joan (Brian Perlman) and John (Debbie Chooljian); and his close friend Valentina.

“I have been away traveling and just saw where my dear friend John passed away. My heart hurts and he will be missed. I met John in the Ham radio club and helped him administer tests. He was always a very joyful optimistic man and always jovial. He was a wonderful man and I will miss him. Rest in peace my dear friend. My sincere condolences to his family and all of his many friends.”
