It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Samuel De Young (Little Falls, New Jersey), who passed away on August 22, 2018, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Ellen DeYoung (Melletta); and his son Daniel DeYoung. He is survived by: his son David DeYoung (Beverly) of Maryland; his grandchildren, Jeffrey DeYoung (Beth) and Bethany DeYoung; his great grandchildren, Natalie, Reagan and Noah; his sister Margaret DeYoung of Little Falls, NJ; and also Brad Trice. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.

“I lived next door on Park Lane with my parents & was allowed to call them Aunt Ellen & Uncle Sam. They built the swimming pool there & tall Uncle Sam taught me to jump off the diving board into his hands to catch me. I learned to swim in that pool & enjoyed it. Every year we ran a hose from our house & with their hose it took 3 days to fill. They also owned the Chicken Hutch which had delivery & that was my first fried chicken. Very good folk and at 66 yrs old I still remember their kindness.”
