He was predeceased by: his wife Elaine Ribaudo. He is survived by: his son Edward J. Shaara, III; his wife Janice Shaara of Glen Ridge, NJ; his sister Isabelle Heaney of So; his grandchildren, Eddie Shaara, Eric Shaara and Victoria Shaara; and also Robert D. Shaara (Robyn) of Riverton, NJ.
