He was predeceased by : his sisters Antoinette Gisondi and Barbara Gibbs. He is survived by : his sister Cecelia Tokarski (Steven); his wife Ellen A. Sopala; his children, Dianna M. Sopala, Richard A. Sopala, Jr. (Claudia) and Patricia M. Galasso (Amato); his siblings-in-law, Joan and Al Smith; and his grandchildren, Giuliana, Alexis, Steven, Gabriella and Giuseppina. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
