He was predeceased by: his wife Christel; the mother of his children Julia; and his parents, Richard Leitz and Doris Leitz. He is survived by: his children, Rick Leitz of Chesterfield, VA and Julie Shutz (George); his grandchildren, Jesse Fromosky (Ashley), Anthony Hughes, Shae Weyant (Richard) and Victoria Leitz; and his great grandchildren, Lacey Weyant and Lincoln Weyant.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Richard's honor to the West Tuckerton Fire Company 505 Route 9 South Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087.
