He was predeceased by: his parents, Катерина Makcиmehko and Joseph Koptic; and his siblings, Barbara and Donald. He is survived by: his siblings, Helen, Mary Martha and James; his wife Mindy; his daughters, Karen Marie Koptic (late Christopher D. Storcella) and Joy Ann Koptic (MacDonald); and his grandchildren, David John MacDonald (DJ), Colin Catherine MacDonald and Shannon Frances Storcella.
