He was predeceased by: his father Robert C. Gilbert; and his grandparents, Robert G. and Edwina Gilbert. He is survived by: his children, Dawson Robert Gilbert, Hayley Anne Gilbert and Alana Morgan Gilbert; his brother Robert Walter Gilbert (Lesli); his mother Patricia Gilbert; and his grandson Mason Edward Gilbert.

Visitation was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home - Linwood (1707 New Rd, Linwood, NJ 08221). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
