He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Simon Ellison Sr.; his sons, Michael (Michelle), Anthony, Edward, Thomas Jr. (Linda) and Dennis; his adoptive son Luis Moore; his daughters, Dianna Hawkins, Miyoung Bartholomew and Cheryl Corbin; his close friends, Louis Sanches, Nigel Spence and Donny Sellers; his wife Vada N. Brown; his sister Frances Eggleston; and his niece Jonora Eggleston. He was also cherished by eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.
