Modesto Augusto Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Modesto Augusto of Linden, New Jersey, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 10, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Modesto leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He is survived by: his wife Otelia DeJesus Augusto; his daughters, Lourdes Caldas (Jose) of Toms River, Licinia Rodrigues of Linden and Maria Carvalhoso (Emidio) of Nazareth; and his siblings, Abilio Goncalves of Elizabeth, Anibal Goncalves of France and Licinia Felis of Portugal. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home (139 Westfield Ave, Elizabeth, NJ 07208). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 8:15 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Fatima R. C. Church (403 Spring St, Elizabeth, NJ 07201). A burial was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 10:30 PM to 11:30 PM at the Rosedale Cemetery (355 E Linden Ave, Linden, NJ 07036).
