He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Matthews and Rita Matthews; and his sister Donna Cantirino. He is survived by: his wife Anna; his children, John Matthews Jr. of Aberdeen, Jeffrey Matthews Sr. (Melonie Matthews) of Monroe and Jill Matthews of Somerset; his stepchildren, Veronica Britos and William Rodriguez of Leonardo; his grandsons, Jeffrey Matthews Jr. and Logan Matthews of Monroe; and his sisters, Janet (Gary Cahill) of Frenchtown and Julie (Richard Coccoli) of Manchester.
