He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Waaben and Freda Linke Waaben; and his sister Ruth Ussing (late Barbara Waaben). He is survived by: his sister Joan Stevens; and his children, Peter Waaben, Charles Waaben, Christopher (Stephanie Waaben) and Jennifer Waaben-Fitch. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes charitable donations made in Sigurd Waaben's name to Parkinson's Foundation.
