It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert J. Bennett Jr. of Lavallette, New Jersey, born in Montclair, New Jersey, who passed away on February 21, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert J. Bennett and Gertrude Hyland Bennett; his wife Patricia Rolle Bennett; his sister Joan Bennett Gomes; and his nephew Michael Gomes.

He is survived by: his children, Robyn Buma (Maarten) and Michael Paige (Dalana); his sister Diane Bennett Salter; his grandchildren, Annelies, Sanne and Robert; and his nieces and nephews, Richard Salter, Curt Salter, Darrell Salter, Richard Gomes, Ken Gomes, Tom Gomes, Bonnie McHale, Tara Cunningham, Kathleen Schlatman and Kimberle Rolle Samanelli.

The work ethic I have today is the one that Mr Bennett instilled in me. I was lucky enough to call Mr Bennett my friend. “So sorry for the loss of cousin Bobby, as a kid, Tim & Liz, Jeanne Hyland, Weber, kids going on vacation to the Jersey shore. We couldn’t wait to see Bobby Bennett. He was always gracious & always invited us up to his office on top of the carousel arcade he would go into the vault give us each a book of tickets for all of the rides.
