He is survived by: his wife Adele Merkle (Boschetto) of Ocean Beach, NJ; his sons, Robert Merkle (Timi Aguilar) of Castle Pines, CO and Thomas Merkle (Maureen) of Annadale, NJ.; his grandchildren, Analissa, Timothy, Michael of Colorado, Brendan, Colin and Devin of New Jersey; his sisters, Kathryn (Joseph) of Ocala, FL and Maureen of New York; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Gili (Ronald) of Florida. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
