She was predeceased by: her parents, Josef Steinhardt and Nellie Steinhardt; and her son Josef Ernst. She is survived by: her husband Stephen C. Ernst; her children, Julia Ernst (John Aneskewich Jr.) and Joshua Ernst; her siblings, Michael Steinhardt (Kathy) and Ellen Steinhardt; and her granddaughter Finley Marie Aneskewich.
