He is survived by: his wife Emily Weber Kertscher; his sister Barbara Simmons (Aaron) of Stockholm, NJ; his sister-in-law Cheryl Venable (Edward) of Highland Lakes, NJ; his nieces and nephews, Erika Simmons, Kara Scharwath, Ashley Venable, Francis Simmons (Brittney) and Keith Scharwath (Alissa); his great-niece Avery Scharwath; his great-nephew Oscar Scharwath; and his pet Sam.
