He was predeceased by: his daughter Mary Christine Branch; his wife Frances; and his parents, Joseph J. Sr. and Elizabeth Wallace. He is survived by: his sons, Joseph III (Brooks) and Robert (Sue); his son-in-law Douglas Branch; his grandchildren, Jacqueline Vahab, Michael Branch, Lauren Branch and Christopher Wallace; and his great grandchildren, Jesse Vahab, Avery Vahab and Kayla Wallace.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center https://giving.mskcc.org.
