He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Holste and Frida Holste (Hoelle); and his brother Henry Holste. He is survived by: his wife Christine (Ridgewood); his daughters, Elizabeth (Holste) and Deborah (Flatley); his son-in-law Martin; and his grandsons, Patrick and Jack. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
