“I was deeply saddened to learn of Doug’s passing. We were fraternity brothers and roommates at Gettysburg, We attended Naval Justice School together, sharing a room in the Bachelor Officer’s quarters. Doug was Best Man at our wedding and I was an usher at his. Geography and the business of life kept us from being together in person in the last several years, yet we kept in touch via letters, email and phone calls. Despite time and distance, I counted him among my closest friends.”
