Josephine Tuccitto Obituary
Josephine Ann (DiSanto) Tuccitto, age 84, peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was known as Sissy to her grandchildren and loving family and known as Jo to her dear friends. Josephine was born in Matawan, NJ on July, 6, 1934 to Mary and Skermmerrizze DiSanto. She lived in Matawan until moving to Glen Arm, MD in 1973 with her husband and children.
After graduating from Matawan High School, Josephine attended the Katherine Gibbs school in New York, NY. Until recently, Josephine was a member of the Hunt Manor Women’s Club and Welcome Wagon. Jo chaired Hunt Manor’s annual Christmas Auction to raise money for The Family Crisis Center of Baltimore County and Marian House. She loved to play bridge and travel. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, solving puzzles and watching British television with her husband, John. Josephine had a wonderful sense of humor and easily made friends wherever she went. Family meant everything to her as she was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Josephine is survived by her loving husband John S. Tuccitto, her cherished children Mary Sharples and Anne Tuccitto, devoted daughter in law Karen Botti and adoring grandchildren Sarah Tuccitto, Jessica Sharples, Jennifer Sharples and Jillian Sharples. She now rejoins her beloved son, Joseph Tuccitto, in eternal rest.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, June 14, 2019 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735. On Saturday family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9AM for a 10AM Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Parish, Keyport. Internment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport. A luncheon will take place after burial at Buttonwood Manor, 845 New Jersey 34, Matawan, NJ 07747.
