She is survived by: her children, Donald Harris, Jean Laurie (Bobby) and Joan Polidore (Bob); her grandchildren, Sara Brenner (Ken Brenner), Christopher Laurie and Kellianne Laurie; her siblings, Thomas Ledwith (Carolyn) and Joanne Coyle (Jerry); and her pet Bella.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Opacity Funeral Home (511 Washington Ave, Kenilworth, NJ 07033).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in loving memory of Mel Harris to the Kenilworth Rescue Squad: 491 Washington Avenue, Kenilworth, New Jersey 07033 would be appreciated.
